Building brands that flex

Building brands that flex

The modern brand has to live in more places than ever — an app icon, a billboard, a 15-second vertical video, a dark-mode dashboard, a physical product. A single static logo cannot carry that weight.

This is why we design systems, not marks. A system is a set of rules flexible enough to handle situations you have not imagined yet, and strict enough that the brand always feels like itself.

The hardest part is restraint. A good system says no to as many things as it says yes to. The constraints are what make it recognisable.

When it works, anyone in the organisation can make something new and on-brand without asking permission. That is the real deliverable: not a logo, but autonomy.
